Each sculpture is a singular work forged from selected raw materials. Chabrières cultivates a distinct spatial presence. Rendered in both intimate and monumental scales, her lightweight creations embody a profound spirit of contemplation and a celebration of life. Haptic sense and sight are her connection to the world. It seems she has eyes at the finger tips, , dancing and twirling, while forming shapes.
At the core of her practice lies paper, her material of predilection, chosen for its delicate weight, simplicity, rustic and remarkable transformative qualities. Constance Chabrières built her own tools and figured out how to play with some of the paper’s technical surprises.
Constance Chabrières also creates using clay, soil, fabric, feathers, wood, stone, metal, and discarded elements she recycles. The portfolio link is available upon request.
We are opening the doors of the studio for the European Artistic Crafts Days (JEMA) and our creative classes. The studio is also open by appointment to discuss your custom projects.
